Welcome to 2022

 Wow!  2022 is already here!

Still at the new company I started with in 2021.  Same work as I did at my previous company, but better pay and benefits, and I did get a small promotion.

Had a small hiccup with some people who don't take any kind of feedback well and complained to the manager.  They're on a different shift, so for my own sanity, I'm just not going to deal with them anymore.  Let their Coordinator and Supervisor deal with them.  Not my problem!

Reviewed my copy of The Life Changing Magic of Not Giving a F*ck and my copy of The Four Agreements now lives in my work bag.  I actually have all of the "No F*cks Given Guides" and highly recommend them.

Finally got the car into the shop and nothing majorly wrong.  A couple of seals and a hose needed replacing.  Hose is on order, and will be installed soon.  Passed emissions and tags renewed with no issues.  So nice having a car again so that I don't have to freeze on the bike in the winter.  I much prefer riding in the heat.

For crochet, I did a scarf and hat for a coworker who gave me a GoPro Hero 4 camera.  Used it on the way to work once, and for when we opened Yule gifts.  Need to get all the footage and edit a bit.  Got a new helmet that I can mount the camera to, but probably will stick with the handlebar mount.

To ring in 2022, we went to see SpiderMan: No Way Home.  I won't spoil anything, but it is most definitely worth seeing on the big screen.  We've seen almost all of the MCU in theaters, and they're usually always a good time.

Also started a temperature blanket for 2022.  I have 6 colors and temperature ranges of 15 degrees assigned.  BUT, so far this winter has been unseasonably warm, so I may end up not using the white I chose for temps under 40°.  If not, I can always use it for edging!

Temperature Yarns

Cast on Stitches

First Row Complete

I'm also giving Tunisian Crochet a go.  I started teaching myself this last year.  Didn't get much farther than the basic stitch, so the casting on and doing the stitches, and continuing will be a nice refresher.  I haven't gotten the hang of in-line color changes with Tunisian yet, but with this blanket, only need to change as needed at the start of rows, so that will help.

I'm using Lion Brand Truboo yarn, and a 4.5mm cable hook (between G and H, and the yarn recommends G).  So far, happy with the results.  The first row is a little rough, and that's partly from my inexperience with this technique, and partly from the cheap hook.  But, wasn't going to spend a lot on cabled hooks for something I may not do again.  Boy, would that go over great with the hubby!!I have the pattern for the Lotsa Love Afghan finished, just need to polish it up a bit (mostly adding repeats now that I know the counts are accurate), then get it PDF'ed and it will go up for sale on my Etsy shop.  I'm hoping to eventually rebrand the shop to match this blog,  but just haven't gotten to it yet.

Anyway, hope everyone had a great, and safe, New Year's and hope that 2022 brings you good things!

Until next time,

Keep on Hooking!

  1. Aaaand, on row 2, it got messed up, and I frogged it, and am starting over with regular half double crochet. I obviously need more practice with Tunisian, and probably better cabled hooks.

    1. Haz convinced me to give the Tunisian another go. So, it's all getting frogged again. I'll probably wait for the weekend to restart, and keep logging Temps.
